It has very nice songs and the love and chemistry between the two lead characters are so attractive.

Spouse For House (Seasons 1 and 2)

I happened to catch an episode of the latest season last week and I couldn't figure out why I had missed out on such a quality local comedy series. It is as good as some of the US comedies currently showing. I would rate it similar to, if not better than, Melissa & Joey and with it being local, the familiarity definitely wins.

The main characters John (Alaric Tay) and Jessica (Selena Lee) are an odd couple that somehow matches and complements each other. The cast does have the acting and chemistry to pull the show off.

新加坡电视台的华语戏剧一向来给人的印象是没创意，没吸引力的家庭环境剧。虽然这往往是真的，但新加坡还是偶有佳作，让人追看的剧集，如《秘密花园》和《拍●卖》。

（不过好像大多数是外包给本地的独立制作室，可这也是一件好事，能让本地人才发挥创意。）

若不是U频道现在正在播出一部在Toggle.sg去年就上载的《听》，我就错过了一部值得推荐的好戏。我喜欢它的题材，对灵异故事里的许多细节都有很好的诠释。剧中的对白和说话方式也接近我们平时所说的。主要演员是我不熟悉的新人，虽演技有时夸张了一点，但胜在他们像我们认识的邻家小孩，再加上老戏骨在不同的故事段落的演出，弥补了不足。

Synopsis 故事大纲

Mo Xiao Yun lost her sense of hearing one year ago in a car accident and began hearing peculiar noises ever since. Although she knows that these sounds are from the otherworld, Xiao Yun chooses to ignore them because she does not see anything strange. However, this changed after she meets Zhang Ji En. Desperate from being bothered by the ghosts, Xiao Yun had no choice but to seek Ji En’s help. The pair eventually ends up helping the ghosts, and in the process, develops good feelings towards each other. 这显示，只要是好的本土创作，本土制作，贴近本土生活的戏剧，人们还是会喜欢，会支持的。我们也要给本地的制作人更多的机会和空间来点掌声。

Once Upon A Time

Finished the first season on TV. Really can't wait for the second season. It is definitely one of the best shows I love!

The fairy-tale characters are so well written, so complex and background so rich that you will feel that you cannot have known them any better. They become so real...

No longer is good and evil that clear as in the books. One will hate the evil queen yet cannot help feel sorry for what had happened to her. I can understand her state of mind which vindicates her actions for revenge.

我必需先声明：我没有看完整部剧集，只看了一些片段。不过我看过的，就如我之前说的，有诚意，因此我要在这里推荐一下。以下的简介是取自百度百科：

通过一个奇才人物 Dr Beng，探索时下青少年的精神困扰。

尽管Dr Beng是一位放荡不羁的心理医生，但是他却拥有过人之处，能洞悉青少年阴暗、困惑、而又混沌的心理。Dr Beng会以一套异于常人的特殊作风与他们沟通，解除青少年的精神焦虑，帮助他们耕耘一块健康的心灵花园。

创作背景和动机

全世界有四分之一的人口有某种程度的精神病，当中三分之二的人没有积极求医。

在新加坡，平均每6个人当中有一人患有某种精神病，虽然比全世界平均每4人当中一人患病来得轻，但是数字仍值得关注。

根据心理卫生学院（IMH）提供的数字，过去四年，门诊病人从2005年的2万9000个增加 到去年的3万3000个，青年病患（13岁到18岁），占了35%到40%，几乎一半。学院的儿童与青少年心理治疗部门指出：12.5%的孩子患有紧张恐 惧症（Anxiety Disorder），他们通常面对压力问题、情绪问题如抑郁症和焦虑、严重的精神问题如精神分裂症和躁郁症，以及饮食失调症；而压力多来自学业、感情、经 济等等。

这些数字并不包括其他上私人诊所求医，或者误以为是普通病症而到一般诊所求医，亦或者目前还躲藏在家中，家长不愿带孩子求医的病例。

这些青年病患都在向周围的家人和朋友，发出无声的呐喊。。。

故事大纲

曹启明（黄腾浩 饰演）外号Dr Beng医生，是一名外表"玩世不恭"，但却很有爱心的青少年专科心理医生。Dr Beng表面苟且散慢，嬉笑怒骂，但内心精巧细致，洞悉世情。由于受不了大医院的制度化工作环境，Dr Beng 辞职后自立门户，但苦于没有本钱，且又不善行政，于是向昔日大学好友Swan成美娥（林湘萍 饰演） "商量"，向对方租借一间小办公室，寄生虫般地继续行医（经常找借口不交月租）。

外貌更像25岁，平日嘻哈古怪的Dr Beng，不看病时，手里少不了电玩PSP，说话口无遮拦，时而开开玩笑，其看症的病房七零八乱，有点像旧货市场；诊室的橱窗也收集了大量的日本机器人Gundam的模型，看起来更像一个青少年的房间。

来自特殊家庭背景的Dr Beng，和青少年有着一种难以言喻的默契，能让他很快地进入他们的秘密世界，寻找解除病症的重要线索。

Dr Beng的信念，配合了好友Swan的长处，竟然也阴差阳错，成为心理学界的闪亮"新星"！

Swan的外表冷酷，做事很有原则而又具有艺术天份，Swan自从放弃当心理医生，就一直从事 另类的医疗，例如通过绘画，和舞蹈来辅导心理受困的病人。Swan偶尔会质疑Dr Beng医治个案的方法，两人时而针锋相对，但下班之后放下公事，两人又是惺惺相惜的知心好友。

Swan对Dr Beng有特殊的"好感"，但由始到终都不曾对Dr Beng表白。有一次，SWAN发现造成Dr Beng年幼车祸的凶手后，陷入了重重困扰，两人的合作关系也因此发生了戏剧性的转变。。。

Tracy Liao 廖明真（蔡琪慧 饰演）是一名初生之犊的女社工。Tracy毕业于新加坡国立大学社会学，毕业后为了实践理想舍弃高薪的职位，毅然加入一间民营福利机构当全职社工。

Dr Beng的名声跟着一起青少年案件事发而大响，引起媒体关注，而也吸引更多的问题青年和父母上门求救。

Tracy当全职社工的第一份工作就是将一名患有精神分裂的年轻人带去给Dr Beng诊治。Tracy对懒散和不按牌理出牌的Dr Beng作风很不满，一开始就跟Dr Beng起争执，Dr Beng不但不予理会，还把Tracy赶出诊疗室。之后两人又再因个案而数度起摩擦，但有一点Tracy不得不服的是，Dr Beng最后都能用独特的方法解开个案的心结，让他们得到帮助。

Tracy所扮演的角色如同电视观众，旁观者的眼睛，来质问和探索有时复杂，有时离奇，有时 令人心酸的病患个案。她的观点有时会和Dr Beng起正面冲突。Tracy在剧中的性格直爽，经常会主动和Dr Beng 约会。Dr Beng、Tracy和Swan会有段微妙的感情三角关系。

Dr Beng多年来一直在暗中追查开车冲撞他与双胞胎哥哥的肇祸司机，某次他掌握到可靠的线索，眼看就要揪出元凶的时候，没想到却被神秘人暗中破坏，将罪证捣 毁，Dr Beng怀疑Swan就是幕后黑手，但Swan却矢口否认。直到Dr Beng的恩师Prof Khoo从美国回来，事情才有了突破性的进展。Prof Khoo是Swan的父亲，也是当年负责治疗Dr Beng的主治医生。Swan和Prof Khoo之间的父女感情从小便比较冷淡，Swan就读大学的时候，Prof Khoo接受了美国大学的邀请，单独赴美教学，留下女儿一人在新，父女关系更是平淡得出奇。但是自从Prof Khoo回返新加坡之后，因为一起事发，父女的感情有了意外的改善。

《拍●卖》

我有一段很长时间没看本地的电视连续剧了，因为大多数的剧情都了无心意，看不到几集就大概可以猜出结局。不过刚播完的《拍卖》就给了我惊喜，引起了我的兴趣看完它。

《拍卖》是继《秘密花园》(关于精神病的新加坡戏剧）后，一部有诚意的作品。短短的十三集，不拖泥带水，高节奏使到剧情显得有张力。故事方面不象其他本地制作过于简单无聊，以私家侦探为题材有新鲜感。台词方面也比较本土化，没刻意模仿港台剧集。

至于剧中演员，都是有经验和实力的本地姜。陈树承自从几十年前演出《天眼》里的大坏人，演技就是公认的好。李铭顺也进步了许多，能演较多内心戏。刘子绚我就觉得还好而已，需要多磨练。

I'm watching The Big Bang Theory...

This show is so hilarious that I have to give it five stars. I have never laughed so hard watching a comedy series.

From the CBS website, the show is about:

Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, the kind of "beautiful minds" that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard's roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love.

[Telemovie] Delivering Suzy

I am watching this local production on Channel 5 now (10:00pm - 11:30pm). It's a rather refreshingly heart-warming Singapore tele-movie for a change, different from the usual melodrama fares we have. Though the reason about why the son left the family is a bit trite, the overall flow of the story is smooth nonetheless.

The new okto tv channel is showing two timeless British comedy classics, Mind Your Language and 'Allo 'Allo now (GMT +8). Loved them then and absolutely still enjoy them now.

韩剧《梦幻情侣》

我一向来都不太喜欢韩剧，但这次却迷上了这套浪漫温馨的爱情戏剧。剧里的人物性格分明，惹人发笑，也让人为他们打气。特别是赵安娜／罗桑实，她生气时很有趣，冷漠时可恶，尴尬时可爱。我除了漏看了前面几集，之后都每天赶回家收看。

我也喜欢饰演罗桑实的韩艺瑟。她美但也不会太美，既不妖艳也不妩媚。她有自己的气质与风格，不经意间就被她吸引住。

我妈也很喜欢《梦幻情侣》，只可惜她因飞越南度假而错过了最后一集，因此我买了DVD好让她回来慢慢看。我还必须跑了两家店才买到，因为第一家店表示剧集受欢迎而缺货。我也在网络上找到了原生带OST，就转载在下面：

It's the Chinese New Year tomorrow and I hereby wish everyone an exciting and prosperous year ahead. I also want to congratulate the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports. Once again, you have shot yourselves in the foot. What a spectacular bid for being the first city to host the Youth Olympics and yet fail to get our national television station to telecast the Saudi Arabia vs Singapore football match. So can I not pay my TV licence since I already don't have anything to watch anyway? Maybe we can disband our TV broadcasting station since all it does is showing reruns, producing crap programmes, and paying salaries to people that don't really contribute to the welfare of the community? In fact, why not fire those producers, directors, script-writers, actors and actresses and spare us all the torture of watching TV. Oh wait, I know, this is actually a conspiracy to prevent us from becoming couch potatoes, give our students an excuse to study more and adults spending more in our malls. Right?

I like Gilmore Girls

There, I have said it out loud :p

I know, you must be laughing at how a guy gets to like watching a so-called 'chick flick'. It may be a female-targeted drama but it is really family-oriented-ly nice. I like it for the witty and yet sometimes quirky conversations, the small town setting, the eccentric characters and of course Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel).

I have always wanted to live in a small town with a population no larger than a thousand. Stars Hollow is simply my ideal place to live in. Hahaha... time for me to migrate?

Channel 5 is showing season 6 now but the station didn't announce when they started showing and couldn't stick to the scheduled timing every week. In the end I missed the first few episodes of the season. So I spent a week getting the DVD rips. Now I can watch it whenever I feel like it :D

［港剧］铁血保镖

最近迷上了港剧《铁血保镖》，一下班就赶回家追看。此剧的剧情紧凑，人物鲜明，非常精彩好看。特别是戏里那个“三叔”，绝顶聪明，充满智慧，忠奸分明。他虽然表明只是个闲人，不与人争夺名利，但却对周遭的人和事观察细微，了如指掌。他无需跟坏人硬碰硬，只需用一些计谋，便能使坏人现出原形，受牵制而无法使坏。当然，好的计谋也要有好的人施。所幸这等人物是个好人，否则后果就糟了，谁也对付不了。

My cousin on TV!!!

My cousin, Fang Fang, was featured on the Channel U programme "Find Me A Singaporean (稀游记)". She was interviewed for her charity work in the remote villages in the mountains of Yunnan, China. Amazing stuff! We are proud of you, cuz.

Ghost Whisperer

Just watched the new series starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. It was not bad and I kinda like it. The story was heart-warming and the pace not too slow. Not too scary too, at least not many of those scenes where the director would try to shock you. And unlike the series Lost, I actually can follow the story here and am not lost. Anyone can give me a summary of what was going on in Lost 2?

Don't forget to catch the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' on Channel 5 this Sunday before going to the cinema to catch 'Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest'.

[感想] 仁心慈爱照万千

刚在两个多小时前播出的《仁心慈爱照万千》慈善筹款节目已经帮仁慈医院筹得了680万余元的善款。由明义法师和海内外的艺人联手表演的节目，再一次为仁慈医院的穷苦病人筹到了多一年的费用。真得很佩服明义法师的胆量与毅力。明义法师他用不屈不挠的精神，以身作则，冒着受伤的可能去做高难度的表演。他的言语，表情，肢体语言和行动，都让世人们看到了他的爱心及慈悲心。希望大家继续帮助仁慈医院。

不过，在节目彩排时发生了新加坡艺人郑秀珍受伤的事，让人觉得痛惜，但她在受伤后所说的话却让我有不同的想法。她说电视台叫艺人做的表演犹如马戏团的杂耍，是说的有其道理。可是，退一步深想，她说的其实是有一点过分。慈善节目嘛，本来就是除了表演才艺或看家本领，就是表演平常生活中不会做到的东西。她说学斗唱舞，没有一样是行的，你说不安排她表演一些其他的行吗？

老实说，新加坡的很多艺人，在才艺和文化修养方面都很缺乏。因此我希望这些艺人（你知道你们是谁），能多花点时间进修，多看一点文学书籍或者学习几项才艺来充实自己，然后自己想一想还能做些什么演出。只要少一点制造那些无聊的新闻，浪费精力搏出位，就会有很多时间学习。真是非常看不起那些自以为现在靠几分姿色和人气而红的能继续有人支持的艺人。
